F.A.Q.
Why can’t my child attend therapy if they are sick?
CTS prioritizes a safe and healthy environment for children, families, and staff. Limiting in-clinic visits when a child is sick helps prevent the spread of contagious illnesses.
What symptoms prevent my child from being seen in the clinic?
Your child cannot attend in-clinic therapy if they have had any of the following within the past 24 hours:
-
Vomiting
-
Diarrhea
-
Fever over 100°F
-
Pink eye
-
Unusual sores or rashes
-
Any other known contagious infection
What should I do if my child is sick before an appointment?
You have several options:
-
Reschedule using the Ocean Friends app or by calling the office
-
Cancel by calling the office
-
Request a virtual (telehealth) appointment if your child feels well enough to participate from home
How do I request a virtual/telehealth appointment?
Call the office and speak with the scheduling team to see if a virtual appointment is available.
How much notice do I need to give for changes or cancellations?
Please notify the scheduling team as soon as possible about any appointment changes to avoid attendance infractions. Refer to the Attendance Policy for full details.
When can my child return to in-clinic therapy after being sick?
Your child may return when one of the following applies:
-
They have been symptom-free for 24 hours
-
They have completed 24 hours of antibiotics
-
A healthcare provider confirms the illness is no longer contagious (a note may be required)
Who should I contact if I’m unsure whether my child can return?
If you have questions about symptoms, return-to-therapy guidelines, or scheduling options, please contact the office. Our scheduling team will be happy to help.
